About My Company
Doing Things the Same Way for Decades
Allens has been a part of Mount Dora for decades, but our roots trace back even further. Our founder, Allen Holman, started in the HVAC business when he was only 15 years old, way back in 1954.
By the 1970s, Allen had fine-tuned his HVAC skills and was ready to take on Florida weather with his own business. And our company has been going toe-to-toe with the summer heat ever since.
But Allens was never going to be a one-man business. In 2003, with the help of Allen’s grandson, Brandon, our company was officially incorporated. By 2014, another of Allen’s grandsons, Brad, had joined, making Allens a true family business.
From the beginning, we’ve always kept the same high standards and done the same excellent quality of work. Allen’s grandsons continue to run the company the same way he would: With a strong sense of ethics, deep respect for our customers, and a strong connection to the community.
Allen shared his HVAC knowledge and wisdom with us, and we work every day to pay it forward.

Should I call you right away if I’m having AC problems?
No, not always immediately. First, there are a few steps you can take yourself. If your AC isn’t working, check and clean your HVAC filter. If that doesn’t work, examine the fuse box and check to see if your thermostat is set correctly. If these steps don’t work, then it’s time to call Allens.
